Located in Ballarat, this museum houses a collection of artifacts relating to the history of the region. The collection includes everything from photographs and documents to clothing and household items. Entry is free.
3. Kryal Castle:
Kryal Castle is a theme park based on medieval castle life, located in Ballarat. The castle features knights, jousting, a dragon’s labyrinth and dungeon tours. Entry fees apply.

1. Old Castlemaine Gaol:
The Old Castlemaine Gaol was built in 1861 and operated until 1990. The gaol is now open for tours and provides a glimpse into the harsh realities of life behind bars during the 19th and 20th centuries. Entry fees apply.
2. Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens:
Located in Daylesford, Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens features lush gardens, a fernery, a conservatory and a café. The gardens were designed in the 1860s by the director of the Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. Entry is free.
